 Wilshire Blvd.

2020, oil on linen, 24 x 36"
Painting starts with a couple of layers of acrylic for texture and color.   Then layers of pencil drawing alternate with layers of oil paint.  One of the earliest layers was gestural figure drawings in pencil which were gradually obscured as the painting developed.  I also used stencils and freeform pencil drawing.
